Everyone must immediately seek shelter in a fully enclosed building
Practice cannot resume until a full 30-minute period has passed without any sound of thunder or flash of lightning
Any subsequent thunder or lightning resets the 30-minute clock completely
Any time a local weather siren is sounded, play or practice must be suspended immediately
Coaches and the club assess the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) and Heat Index to determine safety levels.
Alert Level Black (Mandatory Cancel/Delay): Outdoor training must be canceled or delayed until cooler if the WBGT exceeds regional thresholds.
Region Category 2: >89.9°F
Alert Level Red (Strict Limitations): Training is limited to a maximum of 1 hour with four separate 4-minute breaks built in, and no additional conditioning is allowed.
Practice must be canceled or postponed
Strong consideration should be given to postponing or canceling based on an on-the-ground assessment
Training is allowed but requires adding extra hydration breaks, and players with underlying conditions (such as asthma) must be closely monitored
